Registration

Question #1: How much does it cost to register?
It is free to register as either a business or a campus resource.
Question #2: Can anyone register as a campus resource?
No. The registration requirements are:
  • You need a valid campus email address to register as a campus resource.
  • Be currently enrolled (part-time or full-time) at a recognised third level institute OR be an employee (full-time, part-time or on contract) with a recognised third level institute.
Question #3: My university is not recognised by CampusRock?
There are hundreds of third level institutes and it is possible that it has yet to be added to our database. If our system does not recognise your institute, you will be prompted to enter the institution name and address. Our staff will then verify your institute and if approved your account will be activated and notification issued to you via email.
Question #4: I cannot find my exact qualification. What do I do?
The purpose of stating your area of expertise or study is to help businesses identify you as a potential resource. There is considerable variation between institutes and countries on course titles. If you cannot find your exact qualification, please click on the feedback button (bottom right corner of your screen) and provide your qualification details. Our staff will add these to the database. However, so long as the area of expertise/study which you indicate is generally applicable this is acceptable. If required, specific qualification details can be discussed with the business user during the engagement process. These can also be added in the summary section.
Question #5: Do I need to register my bank details?
No, you do not need to submit your bank details. However, when you engage with a business and begin working on a project, CampusRock will require you to enter your bank details so that you can receive payment for your work… (unless you are working for free).
Question #6: Do I need to register my VAT number?
VAT (Value Added Tax is applicable in the EU for earnings above certain thresholds). If you have a VAT number you need to register it with us for invoicing and billing compliance.

Business Projects

Question #1: How do I find a campus resource to work for me?
First step is to register a free Business account. Next, you need to log in and create a new “Business Project”. This will be published on the CampusRock website and it will be included in our biweekly newsletter.
Question #2: How much does it cost to post a business project?
There is no upfront cost of posting a “Business Project”. You may post it for free. However, when you engage with a resource we charge a 9% marginal fee. (For example: If a resource makes a successful bid of €500 for a given project, the business must transfer €545.95 (€500 + €45.95) into a escrow account before the resource will begin working. Note: The resource will receive the €500 that they originally bid). The fee covers all transaction costs and service charges. Service fees are capped at €300 irrespective of the project size.
Question #3: As a business user, what security do I have that the work will be done by the resource?
For maximum security, we recommend that you use the milestone billing feature. By using this feature, the resource will only be paid after each milestone is completed and approved by you. If the resource does not successfully complete a given milestone you will receive a full refund.
Question #4: How do Campus Resources get paid?
Before you apply for a project, you should log in to you control panel and click on the settings tab. Here you can edit your “Bank Account Information”. Please fill in all the required fields. When you complete a project milestone, the business user will be asked to confirm that you successfully completed the milestone. If this is so, funds will automatically be transferred into your account within 3 working days.
Question #5: What is an escrow account?
An escrow account is used to independently hold funds until a transaction is complete. Before a resource begins working on a business project, the business will be required to transfer funds into the CampusRock escrow account via credit card or bank transfer. Once transfers are ade the resource is informed of the allocation and can begin work.
Question #6: How long will my Business Project remain on CampusRock?
Your Business Project will remain on CampusRock for as long as you wish. While adding a Business Project to CampusRock, you will be asked to specify a “Bid Closing Date”. After this date your Business Project will not appear on CampusRock.
